Next Meeting

Chapter 704 Meetings at Sparta Airport Pilots Lounge

A discussion was held at the December meeting about the next meeting. The meetings are smaller than the election of officers meeting during January, February, and March. So we will pickup the meetings in April.
Paul Gill is going to have a Venison burger cookout for the January meeting in the Gill Hanger. (January 12th)

Meeting Minutes

Minutes of Chapter 704 meeting of December 8, 2008

Meeting opened at 7:15 pm. Minutes from November meeting were reviewed and approved. There was no treasure's report.

Nominations for chapter officers was called for. John Gill volunteered to take over the duties of secretary.
The other officers will remain unchanged:

Vice-President - Dave Duperron
President - John Smith

If you still have a paper pilot license you can log on to FAA.gov, go to licenses and certificates to fill out the form for the plastic license. You have to have this done by February.

Vic Johnston gave an update on mogas problem at Sparta and other airports. At this time what is in the tank now is all we will get.

Our January 12 meeting will be a combination meeting and venison supper get-together, bring a salad or dessert. We will meet at 7 pm in John Gill's hanger.

The program for December was Ron Fritz. He brought several rubber and gas powered vintage free flight models. Some of the rules for flying these models were explained, such as maximum engine run for gas models and minimum flight time for max points. Also discussed were the ways to limit engine run time, and how the airplane was brought down after a max flight.

Presidents Corner

Christmas has come and gone and the New Year is here. I hope each was and will be enjoyable for you and your family.

I had a meeting with Tom Mills, the District Director of the Boy Scouts of America. It was a very informative and educational meeting. We talked about the chapters responsibilities as sponsor and what the troop could do for us. I will be speaking more on this in coming months.

As always we could use ideas for programs, see Dave Duperron.
See you at the next meeting.

John Smith
